1736 Family Crisis Center provides a wide range of residential and nonresidential services through multiple sites in LA County, including four confidentially located domestic violence shelters (South Los Angeles, the South Bay, Long Beach), a homeless and runaway youth shelter (Hermosa Beach), two Community Service Centers to provide counseling and case management (South Los Angeles and Torrance), and four 24-hour crisis hotlines. In addition, 1736 FCC is lead agency in an eight-member City of L.A. Family Development Network consortium that provides case management, counseling, Youth Advocacy Program, and other services designed to help families achieve self-sufficiency. 1736 FCC provides extensive community outreach/education, collaborates with many community agencies, and has an active volunteer base.

It is the largest information and referral service in the nation, helping 400,000 individuals and families in Los Angeles County each year. Break the Cycle provides legal services, advice and referrals at no cost to young victims of abuse, as well as law-based preventive education, policy advocacy and peer leadership opportunities for thousands of teens and young adults each year.

Provides short and long term therapy with a culturally sensitive team. The majority of our professional, caring therapists is bi-cultural bilingual Spanish speaking. We specialize in the treatment of post-traumatic, anxiety, and depressive disorders for children, adolescents, adults, and elders providing crisis intervention and long-term individual and family therapy. On an as needed basis, we also provide home visits. We provide services in two different counties and work very closely with city, county and state social service agencies, police departments and victim advocates and in CSP in Orange County.

Crisis Response Team (CRT) Mayor's Office

The Crisis Response Team mission is to provide immediate on-scene crisis intervention, emotional support and referrals to victims and their families involved in traumatic incidents and violent crimes. The CRT has over 100 highly trained volunteer members and is administered by the Office of Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa.

Families in New Directions

Crenshaw West Adams Leimert Consortium/Families In New Directions (FIND) is a United Way Agency which serves the communities of South Central and Central Los Angeles (Second Supervisorial District), offering a variety of mental health services. Services include counseling for families, teens and children; parenting education; AIDS education; tutoring/SAT preparation; gang prevention; crisis intervention and family therapy; child abuse prevention and treatment; and trauma intervention/grief and loss counseling.

The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA)

The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles ("LAFLA") is the oldest and largest provider of civil legal services to low-income people in Los Angeles County. Each day brings enormous demand from scores of people who come to one of our six regional offices, three domestic violence clinics, four Self-Help Legal Centers, and numerous community clinics seeking assistance with a wide range of problems either caused or made worse by their poverty. In 2007, more than 45,000 low-income men, women and children received legal assistance, free of charge, with critical legal needs affecting their homes, families and livelihoods. Proceeds from the 5K Run/Walk for Victims' Rights will support LAFLA's provision of free legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence and their children, helping them break the cycle of abuse and rebuild their lives with emergency temporary restraining orders, child custody and visitation orders, and referrals to helpful social service agencies for housing and other basic needs.

Little Tokyo Service Center provides a comprehensive array of social welfare and community development services to assist low income and other persons in need, contribute to community revitalization and cultural preservation in Little Tokyo, and to provide such resources to neighboring other low-income communities. Our Transitional Housing program provides job counseling, financial management, and counseling to victims of domestic violence. Residents become empowered to rebuild new, healthier lives. Services are provided in English, Korean, Mandarin and Japanese.

Loved Ones Victim Services is a nonprofit community based agency dedicated to meeting the emotional and physical needs of family members and friends who have lost loved ones, often times to violence. Since 1985 LOVS has provided a support group to help one another with the grief and trauma associated with homicide. LOVS also addresses the cycle of violence in the Los Angeles area through intervention and prevention programs aimed at supporting the co-victims of violent crime.

Our 2006, 35th anniversary name change reflects an expanded range of services and programs for youth and adults through crisis response, education, counseling and case management, and civil legal assistance and advocacy. Specialized services are designed for under-served groups, such as Latino, Deaf, Disabled, Elder, and LGBTQ.

Join Peace Over Violence for Denim Day L.A., on April 23, 2008. In 1997, a young girl in Italy is raped by her driving instructor. Although initially sentenced, the perpetrator wins an appeal on the decision that since the young woman wore tight jeans she had to have helped the perpetrator remove them and thus consented. Women in the Italian Parliament protested by wearing jeans which in turn motivated the California Senate and State Assembly to follow suit. The news found its way to then Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women (LACAAW, now known as Peace Over Violence) Executive Director, Patricia Giggans, and "Denim Day in L.A." was born. Project Peacemakers, Inc.

Project: PeaceMakers, Inc, is a non-profit public benefit corporation, which services victims of intimate partner abuse in the South Los Angeles area. The agency provides crisis intervention through its Domestic Abuse Response Teams, domestic violence support services, counseling, parenting, anger management, information/referralsand assistant with completing and filing DV restraining orders to name a few. Twice a year the agency provides the forty hour training of 35-50 volunteer wanting to be DV advocates.

Seeking Peaceful Solutions, Inc., is a conflict/dispute resolution company founded to serve in the area of violence prevention. We offer the following supportive services: Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, Mediation, Parenting and Case Management. These services provide healing and self-sufficiency to victims and families of victims of violence.

Homicide Survivor Support Agency providing direct services & information to victim families who have experienced the loss of a family member. Urban Embrace

Urban Embrace is a community outreach program serving East Los Angeles for 14 years. Urban Embrace serves to educate children against gangs, drugs, alcohol, and other harmful substances which are prevalent in their communities. Urban Embrace serves to make children aware of positive choices they can make so someday they can be a role model or leader in their own community.

Valley DART (Domestic Abuse Response Team) is a subsidiary of Haven Hills. Haven Hills is a shelter for battered women and their children. Valley DART is a collaboration between Haven Hills, Domestic Abuse Center and Los Angeles Police Department. Valley DART works out of Van Nuys and West Valley Division where an officer and an advocate respond to 911 domestic violence calls, provide a crisis intervention and resources & referrals to victims of domestic violence and their children.
